ZSCan Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 21 February 2025
1. Introduction
ZSCan ("the Extension") is designed to help users check what Zscaler URL category and Cloud App the current website belongs to. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle user data and permissions.
2. Data Collection and Usage
- The Extension does not collect, store, or share any personal data.
- When the user clicks the extension icon, it retrieves the FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) of the active webpage and sends it to Zscaler.
- No browsing history, cookies, or personally identifiable information (PII) is collected.
3. Permissions and Justification
- activeTab: Used to retrieve the FQDN when the user clicks the extension icon.
- scripting: Injects a script to extract the FQDN without modifying the page.
- Host permissions: Required to access URLs and retrieve the FQDN.
4. Third-Party Services
The Extension sends the FQDN to Zscaler for processing. To review the Zscaler privacy policy, click here.
5. Data Storage & Security
No data is stored beyond the momentary retrieval of the FQDN. No tracking, analytics, or profiling is performed.
6. User Control & Consent
Users do not need to create an account. The Extension operates only when the user clicks the icon.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be posted on the Chrome Web Store listing.
